Happy Heavenly Birthday Bailey

February was American Heart Month, a time when all people, regardless of age, should focus on their cardiovascular health. The Bullock Family came face-to-face with sudden cardiac arrest when their young 16-year-old son, Bailey, was tragically taken from them. To cope with the grief and educate others, they established Bailey Bullock’s Heart & Soul Foundation in June 2021.

A vibrant and talented 16-year-old who attended John Carroll High School, Bailey would have turned 17 on January 14th. For his birthday, Bailey’s family and friends raised $2,701 for the animals that Bailey so dearly loved ((he also loved sports, geography and technology, according to his mom, Patrice). Bailey also volunteered here at the shelter for a time.
Bailey was a person of few words; he was quiet but he was also IMPACTFUL. He allowed his work both on the football field and with academia to speak for itself. He had dreams of one-day playing professional football as a wide receiver.

Pictured from L-R: Laura Snyder, parent ambassador to Bailey’s Heart and Soul Foundation and her son was friends with Bailey; Benjamin Bullock, Bailey’s oldest brother; Patrice Bullock, Bailey’s mom; Donovan Parkes, Bailey’s step-dad; Jen Swanson, HSHC’s executive director; Caroline Moomjian, family friend; Aaron Clarke, played basketball with Bailey and member of BHSF organization; Jenifer Clarke, Aaron’s mom and also watched Bailey play travel basketball with Aaron.

We are commited to saving that one life that would make a difference to a mother, father, brother, sister or friend.
